“No Name Woman” Feminist Analysis

Men and woman define roles for woman.  When girls are born they are told to dress a certain way, do their hair a certain way, and do certain things.  Not all woman have the same advantages as men.  Woman tell their daughters on what to do and how to do it because they were raised in a certain way and they wanted their daughters to be raised the same way they where.  Sometimes even moms would decide who their daughter was going to marry, and they would choose for them.  Men would value woman less because they thought they weren’t good enough as they were.  Men gave the woman less attention and would treat them less just for being woman.  The title is important because its saying that the woman were invisible in the Chinese-American society.  Men would act like if they weren’t there at times that’s why the title is called No Name Woman.  The fact that her grandmother has no name is probably because she wasn’t important enough for her parents that they didn’t give her a name.  She didn’t have any power in the Chinese society because she didn’t have a name and people would ignore her the fact that she didn’t have a name and she was a woman.

Psychoanalytical Theory Analysis in Gaby A Girl In Pieces

In the book “Gabi A Girl In Pieces” Gabi’s dad showed psychoanalysis when he first started using drugs and not being home as most dads are.  Gabi’s dad was a drug addict, he would ask his family for money  and he would waste in on drugs or alcohol.  He was always in the streets asking for money with his other “homeless” friends.  Gabi didn’t like that his dad was a drug addict and that he wasn’t at home most of the time, and when he was home it was mostly at night just to sleep.  Sometimes he wouldn’t even go home for days and he would spend the days in the streets.  Gabi’s dad had a serious problem with drugs and alcohol and she would be the only one helping him out because her mom or her brother wouldn’t help him because he was an addict and he didn’t change.  Her dad would tell them that he was going to change and that he was going to get help but he would just say that all the time and he never looked for help.  It seemed like her dad developed the ego because he wanted too meet his needs for the drugs and alcohol.  At times he did consider the reality of his situation but he never stopped because his addiction was on too far already.  Her dad might also had repression because probably he did drugs and drank alcohol to bury his emotions and avoid all the problems he had.  At the end he died because he wouldn’t take his addiction in mind and he was already too sick.

By The Time You Read This I”ll Be Dead by Julie Anne

I finished reading the book “By the time you read this I”ll be dead” by Julie Anne.  This book was really interesting because basically she makes a countdown of the days she has left to do something to kill herself.  This girl is a 16 year old that cant talk because she tried committing suicide by drinking some liquids but she ended up not being able to talk.  Every time she would get out of school a boy named Santana would always hang out in front of the school and he would always be there waiting for her.  She didn’t like it because she would say he was annoying.  But it had turned out that later on when time passed by he started to like her and she liked him too but she wouldn’t admit it because she thought it was weird how he would like someone that couldn’t even talk.  Santana had cancer and he would act like nothing, he would try to make every day a good day because he knew that one day he was going to be gone.  She said it was weird how he lived happy because he had cancer and he wouldn’t be alive one day but in her case she was fine she just couldn’t speak and she wanted to commit suicide.  Overall I really enjoyed this book because of the way she explained her struggles she had since she was little.
